Customized Peels & Microdermabrasion

Chemical peels can be simply defined as: the application of a chemical agent to the skin to achieve exfoliation and collagen regeneration. But chemical peels can be confusing because there are many different types. At Forever Young Laser & Skin Center, we look at a multitude of factors such as skin type, ethnicity, life-style, condition being treated, and sensitivities. Once this information has been considered, we are able to customize a treatment that is right for you.

Chemical peels can work for everyone, and the list of benefits is long. Peels help prevent skin cancer by removing irradiated, sun-exposed skin. Peels can treat acne, sun-damage, brown spots, rosacea, aging skin, fine lines, skin laxity, rough texture, and scars. Peels can be done alone or in combination with other modalities. Peels are also affordable, making them a staple in maintenance programs.  And done regularly, even light peels will help to prevent the aging effects of the sun.

Image offers a wide range of enzymes and superficial peeling agents that effectively treat conditions such as acne, pigmentation, and aging skin. Most of Image’s peeling agents result in no-downtime making them a good “first peel” choice.

The original glycolic peel line, Neostrata’s peels have been around a long time because of their effectiveness and reliability. Different concentrations keep your skin stimulated (yes even skin can get bored…).

Skin Medica’s family of peels provide something for everyone. Best known for the Vitalize peel, Skin Medica has recently expanded its line to include lighter peels as well.

This very popular peel uses TCA to exfoliate and Vitamin C to condition the skin. The VI Peel works wonders on acne, pigmentation, and sun damaged skin. A day or two of light to moderate flaking is to be expected with this peel.

Microdermabrasion is the use of powdery crystals to “sandblast” the skin. Microdermabrasion works very well on pigmented issues like melasma and general sun damage. This treatment really helps to lift stubborn background pigment and brighten the skin.

Dermasound Plus™

The Dermasound Plus was derived from ultrasonic science. The Dermasound Plus device uses low frequency ultrasound (sound) waves to gently clean, exfoliate, and enhance the penetration of applied products. This device also incorporates microcurrent which aids to heal and calm the skin. The Dermasound Plus is often used in conjunction with peels, microdermabrasion, and laser to gently intensify a treatment.
