Redness and Rosacea
Redness and Rosacea afflict many New Englanders who have northern European backgrounds. This genetic predisposition worsens as we age due to sun, heat, hormones, and other dietary and lifestyle factors. The bad news: Pink skin and intermittent flushing evolves into deep redness and broken capillaries over the face. The good news: this condition responds beautifully to laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)! You’ll see a difference in just one or two treatments.
Rosacea can expand to include acne, broken capillaries, and tissue swelling. Lasers are effective treatments to reduce the appearance of this red flushing over the nose, cheeks, chin, and forehead in four to six sessions. Treated early, this flushing ca be minimized and maintained and can prevent small capillary breakage seen later. Lasers can also be used to treat acne.
Veins
Over time, some vessels on the face become enlarged and visible to the eye. The causes are many: age, sun-exposure, pregnancy, trauma, and rosacea. Generally, these unsightly veins are not dangerous, unless they are varicosities that protrude or are accompanied by swelling or pain.
Laser treatments are used to treat smaller spider veins, especially on the face or upper body. Red spider veins, also called telangiectasias, respond extremely well to laser treatments which may be done alone or in conjunction with sclerotherapy to treat vessels of different sizes.
At Forever Young Laser & Skin Center we use many different lasers and solutions to treat redness, Rosacea, and veins. The estheticians at Forever Young will guide you to the best treatments personalized for you.
