The Restylane® family are fillers made from hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance that occurs naturally in human tissue. These clear gels, when injected, add volume and fullness to the skin just the way your body’s hyaluronic acid does. They are used to correct facial wrinkles and folds such as the ones from your nose to the corners of your mouth.

The Restylane family consists of Restylane®, Restylane® Lyft, Restylane® Silk, Restylane® Defyne, Restylane® Refyne, Restylane® Kysse, and Restylane® Contour. All products now include lidocaine for comfort. Restylane is used for modest lines and has also been FDA-approved for lip enhancement. Lip enhancement is done to give the lips a fuller and more defined appearance, and when done well, is both youthful and beautiful to see. Restylane results are immediate and last from six to twelve months initially. Longer results may be seen with subsequent visits.

Restylane® Silk

The lips and the lines around the mouth, like other areas of the face, show signs of aging as you get older. This often results in lip thinning, lost shape, and an increase in vertical lines above the lip. Restylane® Silk is designed specifically to provide natural-looking results in these areas by using smaller, smoother particles than those used in other Restylane® products.

In a clinical study of patients treated with Restylane® Silk vs no treatment, clinical investigators reported that 77% of patients treated with Restylane® Silk showed at least a one-point improvement in lip fullness (measured on a 5-point scale) eight weeks after treatment. In addition, 59% of patients treated with Restylane® Silk maintained lip fullness six months after treatment.

In the same clinical study, patients treated with Restylane® Silk reported fast-acting, long-lasting results. Visible improvement in lip fullness 14 days after injection was reported by 98% of patients treated. Further, 76% of patients had lip improvement six months following injection.

Restylane® Lyft

Restylane® Lyft, formerly known as Perlane-L®, is an injectable hyaluronic acid gel used to correct volume loss and treat wrinkles in the face, resulting in natural-looking volume and definition for the cheeks.

Restylane® Lyft is approved by the FDA for cheek augmentation and the correction of age-related midface contour deficiencies in patients over the age of 21. This is in addition to treating moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (smile lines).

Restylane® Refyne

As skin loses elasticity with age, the lines that run from the sides of your nose toward the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds) and the lines that run from the corner of your mouth toward the chin (marionette lines) appear more noticeable. Restylane® Refyne is a specifically formulated hyaluronic acid dermal filler made with XpresHAn TechnologyTM that helps correct these lines for a more natural look to your face. The unique cross-linking of the gel in Restylane® Refyne is also designed to help support your natural expression—for real-life results that help maintain natural movement when you’re smiling, frowning, and puckering up!

Restylane® Defyne

Crafted with XpresHAn Technology™, Restylane® Defyne helps smooth out deep laugh lines (nasolabial folds and marionette lines). Using innovative cross-linking technology, Restylane ®Defyne is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that helps restore a more youthful, natural-looking appearance, while helping you maintain your natural expressions.

Restylane® Kysse

Newest of the lip fillers, Restylane® Kysse was released in the summer of 2020. Kysse uses a patented XpressHAn technology to ensure that the product is flexible upon movement of the mouth, thus ensuring a more natural looking enhancement. Results up to one year in duration.

Restylane® Contour

Galerma’s newest addition to the XpressHAn family of Restylane® products, Contour has been designed for use in the cheek area. The XpressHAn technology adds a degree of flexibility and movement to its products, thus allowing for a more natural looking cheek than traditional fillers. Duration is one-plus years.
